Sorry for the delayed post, but you know, life, but Week 2 was incredible, especially on Sunday.

Week 2 in Observations

Tua Lit Up the Ravens in the 4th Quarter
  • Defenses Aren’t In Shape: There were several incredible comebacks in the 4th Quarter – Tua’s 4 TDs (6 on the game) brought MIA back from a 35-14 deficit for the 42-38 win; the Jets scored 2 TDs inside of 2 minutes to shock CLE 31-30; the Cardinals trailed 23-0, and then QB Kyler Murray tied the game in regulation and won in OT, 29-23. All of that means, the Defenses ran out of gas for BAL, CLE and LVR.
  • SF Fortunes Change: QB Trey Lance broke his ankle in a gruesome fashion, which ends his season, but enter Jimmy G. I think the 49ers prospects to get to the Super Bowl have improved with the injury, as they rolled 27-7 over SEA.
  • 2 AFC Contenders In Desperate Mode: The Colts lost their 8th straight game in JAC in terrible fashion, 24-0. QB Matt Ryan looks bad, and the D has been sub-par. They need to get a win this weekend to have a shot at the playoffs. The Bengals did it again falling behind early to the depleted Cowboys, 17-3, then roared back to tie, but eventually lost 20-17. The Bengals O Line have given up 13 sacks in 2 games, which is killing their explosiveness. Something needs to change to turn this 0-2 start around.
  • 2 Contenders Emerging: It is early, but after 2 weeks, it does seem like a couple of teams are a cut above. The Bills entered 2022 as the Super Bowl favorite, and they are playing like it demolishing the SB Champs in Week 1 and the Titans in Week 2. It’s a long road, but they do look legit. In the NFC, which is wide open, the Eagles hype may have been warranted. Week 1, they nearly blew a lead to the Lions, but just crushed MIN’s soul on MNF. If Hurts continues to play at a near MVP level, PHI is a legit contender.

Last Week’s Picks Recap: S/U – 3-1 (missed BAL), ATS – 3-1 (BAL again), and Over hit in BAL/MIA.

Top Waiver Wire Pick Ups in Week 3 (Sorry for the Delay)

Dotson Is Making Plays for WAS
  • QB, Kenny Pickett (PIT) – Despite a decent performance on TNF in CLE, Mitch Trubisky is not the long term answer. He has a lot of weapons in that offense in Johnson, Pickens, Claypool and Freirermuth, not to mention RB Najee Harris. Pickett can make a splash for the Steelers, so you can’t pick him up until next week, but get on board.
  • WR, Jahan Dotson (WAS) – I know I pumped up Curtis Samuel last week, and he did deliver yet again, but Dotson has looked very solid and scored on Sunday. He has more downfield prowess than Samuel and even McClaurin. He’s definitely a staff and hope guy to get now.
  • WR, Michael Gallup (DAL) – Gallup is coming off of an ACL injury, but he is practicing and this offense needs it. QB Cooper Rush has been solid, and Dak will return. Gallup could be a good add at this stage.
  • RB, Justice Hill (BAL) – More of a desperation pick up, as BAL still has struggled to get their main line RBs healthy.
  • DST, Cowboys (DAL) – The Boys are playing great, and LB Micah Parsons is playing at a Defensive MVP level. They play the Giants, so I love this match up.

Week 3 Marquee Match Ups

He’s Baaaack!!!
  • Bills at Dolphins (+5.5, 53 Total) – Sunday, 9/25 at Noon Central on CBS – This AFC East battle is for first place early in the season. Both teams have playmakers on both sides of the ball, but I trust QB Josh Allen a lot more than Tua (despite his 6 TDs). MIA may have an advantage with the warm weather, but I still think the Bills are a class above. Bills straight up and to Cover.
  • Chiefs at Colts (+5.5, 50.5 Total) – Sunday, 9/25 at Noon Central on CBS – The Colts are on the verge of ending their season after only 3 games, and they face the Chiefs who are looking solid. QB Matt Ryan has to play better, and maybe Shaq Leonard will actually play and make the D decent. I think the Colts will play better. I can’t seem them going 0-2-1, but the Chiefs are good. I’m going to split the baby here, and pick KC to win, but IND to cover the +5.5.
  • Packers at Bucs (-1, 42 Total) – Sunday, 9/25 at 3:25 PM Central on FOX – Another Bay of Pigs showdown here, as the Bucs limp in with major injuries on Offense, while GB seems healthy enough to compete. TB12 has not looked great, but that D has played very well. I still like TB to win, despite the injuries. They will cover the -1, too, and I like this game Under 42.
  • 49ers at Broncos (+1.5, 44 Total) – Sunday, 9/25 at 7:20 PM on NBC – The Broncos get their 2nd prime time spot here, and I like them to lose again. QB Russell Wilson has not looked great, as he has refused to push the ball down field so far. The 49ers played with the energy and passion they did last year with Jimmy G under center, and I expect that again. TE George Kittle may not return in this one, but I still like SF to win and Cover.

Let’s do this!
