The NFL has been nothing but unpredictable. With another classic, a changing of the guard may be upon us.

Week 14 Review

McVay Has the Rams Back in the Mix
  • Niners Endure in Dome – SF first went BAL and played the Ravens tough, then after taking it on the chin early, the 49ers rallied at NO. After a back and forth affair, QB Jimmy G hit TE George Kittle on a crossing route who ran and stiff armed his way into FG range for K Robbie Gould’s game winning, FG. SF wins 48-46 and grabs the 1 Seed in the NFC with force.
  • Ravens Outlast Bills – The Ravens are rolling, but the Bills were able to contain QB Lamar Jackson relatively. Unfortunately, the Bills could not find the end zone on their final drive and failed to tie the game. BAL wins 24-17 and grabs the 1 Seed in the AFC.
  • Mahomes Takes Out Pats – The showdown was pumped up, but the Chiefs were the better team all day. Sure, there was a blown call on a TD that mattered, but the NE offense is not getting it done. KC wins 23-16, and hands NE their 2nd straight loss. Mahomes became the first QB under 25 to win at Foxboro in the Brady-Belichick era.
  • Rams Pound Seahawks – The Rams are on the outside looking in for the NFC playoffs, and they needed a win. Well, they came to play squeezing the red hot Seahawks. It was never really a game, and the SEA only TD was an INT TD return. Rams stay in the hunt with the 28-12 win. SEA moves to the 5th Seed.
  • Remember the Titans – QB Ryan Tannehill was done, right. He was traded from MIA to TEN to be a backup, but as the starter he has gone 6-1 now with another resounding win at OAK, 42-21. Tannehill’s QBR is incredible, and they are now tied for the lead in the AFC South, as HOU got beat by DEN.
  • Bears Continue Cowboys’ Slide – With HC Jason Garrett on the way out, it appears the Cowboys have given up on him. Bears’ QB Mitch Trubisky had his best game of the year with 3 passing TDs en route to the 31-24 win keeping their playoffs alive and dropping DAL below .500 but still on top of the NFC East.

Week 14 Review ATS: S/U 2-2, ATS 2-2, Totals 2-2

Can Tannehill Lead Titans to the Division Crown?

Feature Match Ups

  • Texans at Titans (-3, Total 50) – Sunday, 12/15 at 1 PM Eastern/12 Noon Central on CBS – This is a battle for the lead in the AFC South and the first of 2 meetings in the last 3 weeks of the season. The Titans are balling at this point, and the Texans were clearly looking ahead with the loss versus DEN. I still like the Titans here to win, Cover -3 and Under the 50 Total.
  • Bears at Packers (-4.5, Total 40.5) – Sunday, 12/15 at 1 PM Eastern/12 Noon Central on FOX – The Bears are a long shot to make the playoffs, but this is the one they really need. The Pack have owned the Bears in the Rodgers era, but the defense has injured ARod in the past. This is a tough one for me, but I still think GB will win the game, cover -4.5 and I like this game Under 40.5.
  • Rams at Cowboys (+1, Total 49) – Sunday, 12/15 at 4:25 PM Eastern/3:25 PM Central on FOX – These teams are going in opposite directions. The Rams have found their footing after some poor performances. The Cowboys have looked terrible. Not sure I can go with the Cowboys, even though they are desperate here. So, Rams to Win, and Cover PK, and Over 49.
  • Bills at Steelers (-2, Total 36.5) – Sunday, 12/15 at 8:20 PM Eastern/7:20 PM Central on NBC – What a great game here! The Bills and Steelers play good D, and they are physical. It is a critical game in the Wild Card race in the AFC. Really close here. I think the Steelers get the win here in a very close game, I also like them to Cover the -2, Under the 36.5 Total.

Enjoy another entertaining week.
