Going into Week 9, road teams had dominated, but that all switched this week as the home teams went 11-2 (not including the Jags who were in London). Let’s dig into it.

Ravens Take Out the Pats

Week 9 Review

  • Dolphins Get First Win – Yep, this will be the last time I write about MIA until Draft season, but FitzMagic got the Fins a win over the now hapless Jets, 26-18.
  • Chiefs Didn’t Need Mahomes – QB Matt Moore got the job done yet again with Mahomes sitting out again. 275 yards and a TD with 0 TOs in beating a good Vikings team, 26-23. A key win in playoff positioning.
  • Cleveland Still Sucks – Even with QB Joe Flacco on IR, the Broncos turned to unknown Brandon Allen who played capably as the Browns did nothing until late falling to 2-6. Broncos win, 24-19.
  • Chargers Stuff Packers – The Pack were rolling, but they ran into a buzz saw in LA with Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram dominating their O-line limiting them to 184 yards winning, 26-11.
  • Ravens Pound Pats – The Ravens made the most out of their time off on the bye. They came out running jumping out to a 17-0 lead, but the Pats got back in it until a critical fumble by WR Julian Edelman. QB Lamar Jackson finished the job with another rushing TD for the 37-20 win.

Injuries of Note: QB Jacoby Brissett – MCL (Questionable) and Cam Newton put on IR.

Picks Review: S/U 1-3 ATS 1-3 Totals 1-2-1 – Not a good week

Week 10 Key Match Ups

Byes: Broncos, Eagles, Jaguars, Patriots, Redskins, and Texans

Huge Showdown in the NFC West
  • Chargers at Raiders (-1, Total 49) – Thursday, 11/8 at 8:20 PM Eastern/7:20 PM Central on FOX – The last Prime Time game in Oakland ever (unless the Raiders make the playoffs) pits these classic rivals against each other. The Bolts looked good against the Pack and have won back to back games. The Raiders need this one to keep pace with the Chiefs for the division and the Chargers need to keep winning after dropping so many early season games. I like the Raiders here to win and Cover +1 – UNDER 49 in their last Prime Time game in the Oakland Coliseum.
  • Panthers at Packers (-5, Total 47) – Sunday, 11/10 at 4:25 PM Eastern/3:25 PM Central on FOX – The Panthers are one of the biggest surprises this year without Cam Newton. Can the Packers find a way to slow down the MVP (in my view) Christian McCaffery who leads the NFL in TDs scored with 13. The Packers need to find a way to protect Rodgers and make things happen. I like the Pack to bounce back at home, Cover the -5 and UNDER the 47.
  • Vikings at Cowboys (-3, Total 47.5) – Sunday, 11/10 at 8:20 PM Eastern/7:20 PM Central on NBC – A good battle of playoff caliber teams here, the Vikings struggled at KC, and the Boys looked good at NYG. The Vikings need to stop the run better than they did in KC to win this one. Dallas seems to be getting right, so I like them to win and Cover the -3 with the game Under the 47.5.
  • Seahawks at 49ers (-6, Total 46.5) – Monday, 11/11 at 8:15 PM Eastern/7:15 PM Central on ESPN – A great match up in the NFC West, and the Seahawks are 2 full games back in the standings. A loss here would make the division much tougher to win. Should be a great one, and finally a watchable MNF game. I’m big on SF for the season – SF S/U and Cover the -6, and OVER 46.5.

Onward and Upward.
