Yet another week of insane production for some and then zero for others. Here are the winners and losers in Week 4:

Week 4 Review

Fournette Ran All Over the Broncos
  • Bout Time for Leonard – RB Leonard Fournette finally went off with all the RB production for the Jags. Fournette turned 31 touches into 245 total yards (somehow no TDs) in the Jags big win at Denver.
  • Flame Throwers – QB Jameis Winston and Jared Goff combined for a crazy 902 yards passing, 6 TDs and 4 INTs (and a fumble). The teams put up 95 points combined. Hopefully, you had someone in that game.
  • Getting A Chubby – RB Nick Chubb took over for Cleveland against the once vaunted Ravens with 23 touches for 183 yards and 3 TDs. He was sublime.
  • Who is AJ Brown? The rookie WR in TEN caught just 3 balls, but that led to 2 TDs and 94 yards. Brown is not averaging 22.3 Yards Per Catch. He was the other WR from Ole Miss – besides DK Metcalf.
  • Mr. Hooper Again – TE Austin Hooper was the lead guy again for ATL with 9 catches for 130 yards.
  • Now for the Losers: QB Tom Brady had just 150 yards and an INT against the Bills; QB Deshaun Watson passed for 150 and his only TD was a rushing TD; WR De’Andre Hopkins also stunk with 5 catches for 41 yards and an INT?!?; WR Adam Thielen was a no factor against the Bears with 2 catches for just 6 yards. Oh and RB Melvin Gordon’s return was really a no show – Austin Ekeler still produced.

Key Injuries: QB Mitchel Trubisky (CHI) is out with a shoulder injury; QB Josh Allen (BUF) left the game with a concussion; WR Jarvis Landry (CLE) left game with a concussion; TE TJ Hockenson (DET) left the game with a concussion; RB Marlon Mack (IND) hurt his ankle; QB Derek Carr (OAK) is questionable with a lower leg injury.

Byes: Dolphins and Lions

Week 5 – 4 X 4 – Waivers, Trades, Sneaky Starts and Unlikely Sits

Waiver Wire Pickups (60% Owned or Less)

AJ Brown Is A Playmaker
  • Nyheim Hines/Jordan Wilkins, RB IND (17%/4% Owned) – Now, I list 2 guys because if you play in PPR – Hines is the add and Standard – Wilkins would be the guy as Marlon Mack may miss this juicy match up against the Chiefs. Both should get work.
  • Diontae Johnson, WR, PIT (15% Owned) – Johnson has emerged as the WR2 in PIT, not James Washington or Dante Moncreif. He looked good on MNF.
  • AJ Brown, WR, TEN (10% Owned) – Still a low volume passing attack, but Brown has emerged ahead of Corey Davis as the top target in TEN – especially down the field. Worth a stash.
  • Ricky Seales-Jones, TE, CLE (1% Owned) – Seales-Jones caught a long TD on Sunday, and Landry may miss the game opening up targets as coverage rolls to OBJ.

Last Week’s Guys: QB Kyle Allen was terrible with 232 yards passing, 0 TDs and 3 fumbles; RB Rex Burkhead was sent back to the bench with James White back – 1 catch for 7 yards; RB Darrell Williams was the guy – 11 touches for 56 yards and 2 TDs; WR Preston Williams was ok with 4 catches fo 46 yards on 7 targets.

Trade Targets – Buy Low Guys

Baker Is About to Heat Up
  • Baker Mayfield, QB, CLE – He has not had that crazy high game, but his yardage totals are going up. Plus, the Browns’ schedule is about to get tough then really easy. SF, SEA, Bye, NE, then DEN, BUF (tough one), PIT, MIA, PIT, CIN, AZ with BAL in Week 16.
  • Ronald Jones, RB, TB – Since Week 2 at CAR when Peyton Barber got 23 carries, Jones has out carried Barber with 19 in Week 4. He is taking this job and the Bucs’ offense is full throttle.
  • Courtland Sutton, WR, DEN – Look he is not going to dazzle most, but he has received 7 or more targets in every game and broke out with 2 TDs this week. Maybe wait a week to let the owner forget how good he played, but he is a really solid WR3 with WR2 upside.
  • George Kittle, TE, SF – This guy was drafted as a Top 3 TE. He is way down on the list. Coming off the bye his value will never be lower.

Last Week’s Targets: QB Jared Goff threw for over 500 yards with 2 TDs, but 4 costly turnovers; RB David Montgomery got the volume with 24 touches for 67 yards; WR Odell Beckham continues to be under-used with 2 catches for 20 yards; WR Stefon Diggs did have a decent day in a tough match up – 7 catches for 108 yards.

Sneak Starts – Favorable DFS Match Ups

Will Thielen’s Comment Get Him the Rock? Yes…
  • Andy Dalton, QB, CIN (FD$7500) – The Cardinals have been yielding passing yards (271/game) and 2.5 Passing TDs/Game. At that price, load the Red Rifle.
  • David Montgomery, RB, CHI (FD$5700) – It is high time for Montgomery to have a huge game. The Raiders are coming off a big win and are in London already, but without Vontaze Burfict, can they stop the run? I’m going to say no.
  • Will Fuller, WR, HOU (FD$5700) – ATL is not playing well, especially on the back end. If AJ Brown can get 2 long TDs, then what will Will Fuller do?
  • Adam Thielen, WR, MIN (FD$6900) – I’m looking for the squeaky wheel game, as Matthew Berry says – the Vikings need to pass more according to him and against the Giants, they can.

Last Week: QB Case Keenum was bad at the NY Giants – 37 yards passing and an INT before getting pulled for Haskins; RB Kerryon Johnson was solid – 27 touches for 157 yards (would have loved a TD); WR Curtis Samuel was disappointing – 3 catches for 32 yards on 7 targets; TE Will Dissly did what others did before him against AZ – 7 for 57 yards and a TD (led the team in targets with 8).

Unlikely Sits – Typical Starters You Should Think Twice About

I’d Be Worried About Rodgers At Dallas
  • Aaron Rodgers, QB, GB – ARod finally had a big game for you, but the Cowboys are not the Eagles. The Boys took a loss, and they are going to take it out on the Packers on Sunday.
  • Derrick Henry, RB, TEN – LT Taylor Lewan is back, but this Bills defense is just plain nasty. Henry will struggle.
  • Leonard Fournette, RB, JAC – That Carolina front is playing really well. I would lower your expectations after this week’s performance on your mind.
  • Mike Evans, WR, TB – Again, Evans will draw a top CB in Marshon Lattimore who completely blanketed Amari Cooper. Godwin is the play there, again.

Last Week: QB Deshaun Watson (see above); RB Nick Chubb – really off here as he dominated; RB Philip Lindsey – 10 touches for jus 60 yards; WR Mike Evans saved his day with a 67 yard TD catch for 4 catches for 89 and the TD (Chris Godwin got 14 targets and produced).

Good luck this week.
